Germany, Wehrmacht. A Belt Buckle, 1941
(Wehrmacht Koppelschloss). Constructed of stamped steel with an olive-drab finish; the obverse depicting a raised slightly pebbled field with a National Eagle clutching a mobile swastika in its talons, surrounded by two ropes inscribed “Gott Mit Uns” (God with us) on the top half, and two oak twigs on the bottom half that are tied together with a ribbon; the reverse with a standard catch and a double-prong crossbar; attached to the buckle is also a brown leather tab marked with the maker’s information - besides “Dresden” and “1941”, it is not legible; in overall very fine condition.
