A War Merit Cross Second Class with Swords constructed of bronzed zink in the shape of a Maltese cross with crossed swords between the arms of the cross and a circular raised border of oak leaves around a mobile swastika in the centre obverse, the reverse with a circular raised border of oak leaves bearing the institution date “1939” in raised numbering, maker mark “107” on ring for manufacturer Carl Wild of Hamburg, measuring 48.75 mm (w) x 49.76 mm (h), presenting loss of all bronzing and now appears silver, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in very fine condition.
