Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a central wreathed date of “1939”, unmarked, measuring 48.90 mm (w) x 48.80 mm (h), weighing 23.1 grams, accompanied by its period original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the obverse exterior with an inscription of “KRIEGS-VERDIENSTKREUZ 2. KLASSE MIT SCHWERTERN” (“WAR MERIT CROSS II CLASS WITH SWORDS”), the reverse exterior with a maker’s mark of “LIND & MEYRER, OBERSTEIN”, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), in overall extremely fine condition.
