Germany, Wehrmacht. A Wound Badge, Silver Grade, by Klein & Quenzer
(Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber). Instituted 1.9.1939 by A.H. (Issued 1939-1945). Constructed of oval shaped silvered zink,the obverse pebbled with a Stahlhelm in the centre featuring a large mobile swastika on its side superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, an integrated cast hinge and an integrated cast catch, marked “65” for “Klein & Quenzer, Lüdenscheid” on the reverse, measuring 36.53 mm (w) x 43.88 mm (h), weighing 30.2 grams, in overall very fine condition.
