Germany, Wehrmacht. A Wound Badge, Silver Grade by the Vienna Mint, with Award Document to Rudolf Bogda
(Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber mit Verleihungsurkunde). Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with an integrated hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat integrated catch, maker marked with LDO code “30” for the Vienna Mint, measuring 36.26 mm (w) x 43.72 mm (h), weighing 25.9 grams, accompanied by its period original award document, constructed of off-white paper with black ink, named to “SOLDATEN RUDOLF BOGDA”, Jäger-Regiment 89, dated 27 November 1942 for a wound suffered on 17 November, measuring 148 mm (w) x 210 mm (h), loss of silver finish evident to the badge, with minor material fatigue of the award document, in overall near extremely fine condition.
