(Tapferkeits- und Verdienstauszeichnung für Ostvölker 1.Klasse Gold mit Schwertern). Instituted 14 July 1942. (1942-1945 issue). Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star overlaid by crossed swords, with a central six-petalled rosette, set within a circular laurel leaf wreath with a ribbed border, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, unmarked, measuring 49.78 mm (w) x 49.60 mm (h), weighing 23.67 grams, most of the gilt finish has been lost, in overall better than very fine condition.
