Germany, Weimar. A Pair of Regimental Commemorative Crosses
(Regiments-Erinnerungskreuz). A pair of regimental commemorative crosses, each constructed of gilded metal, presenting as a cross pattée with stippled arms bordered in a rope-like border, with swords crossing through the centre, the obverse centre presents a medallion bearing the crowned FIIR cipher of King Friedrich II of Prussia within an oak leaf wreath, the left and right cross arms bear the inscription TREU DEM and REGIMENT (LOYAL TO THE REGIMENT), the reverse presents a circular central medallion bearing an eagle within an oak leaf wreath, the upper arm presents crossed swords, the lower arm bearing an oak spray, the left and right arms inscribed ALLZEIT BEREIT (ALWAYS READY), each measuring approximately 39.52 mm (w) x 43.53 mm (h), each on period original ribbons, each bearing clasps, one stating R.FUSS ART. RGT. 12 and the other stating FELD ART. RGT. 55, each in very fine conditions.
