Germany, Weimar Republic. A Silesian Eagle, I Class, by Petz & Lorenz
(Schlesischer Adler I. Klasse). Constructed of a patinated zink alloy, the obverse consisting of a Silesian-style German national eagle clutching a silvered banner bearing an inscription of “FÜR SCHLESIEN” (“FOR SILESIA”) in its talons, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Petz & Lorenz, Unterreichenbach, measuring 32.42 mm (w) x 43.04 mm (h), weighing 18.7 grams, in extremely fine condition.
