Germany, Weimar Republic. An Honour Cross of the German Front Fighters’ Association, by Deschler & Sohn
(Ehrenkreuz Deutscher Frontkriegerbund). Instituted 1922 by the German Front Fighters’ League. (1922-1931 issue). Constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with ribbed arms, with a central gilt oak leaf wreath surrounding an enameled Imperial tricolour shield, the arms bearing initials “KFB” for Frontkriegerbund, with dates “1914-1918”, the reverse with a vertical pinback, maker marked “DESCHLER & SOHN, MÜNCHEN”, measuring 41.47 mm (w) x 41.03 mm (h), weighing 16.5 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
