What's a max bid?

Footnote: W.G. Criswick was serving with the Royal Fusiliers in the rank of Temporary 2nd Lieutenant, when he was named Temporary Lieutenant effective March 8, 1916, the announcement appearing in the Fourth Supplement to the London Gazette 29577 of Tuesday, May 9, 1916, on Thursday, May 11, 1916, page 4670. He was now a recipient of the Military Cross and a Temporary Lieutenant with the Royal Fusiliers, when he was named Acting Captain effective September 25, 1918, employed with an Officer Cadet Unit, the announcement appearing in the Fifth Supplement to the London Gazette 30916 of Friday, September 20, 1918, on Tuesday, September 24, 1918, page 11328. Temporary Lieutenant (Acting Captain) W.G. Criswick, MC relinquished his commission on completion of service, on April 1, 1919 and was granted the rank of Captain, the announcement appearing in the Supplement to the London Gazette 31434 of Friday, July 4, 1919, on Friday, July 4, 1919, page 8479.
