What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

1. France: Supreme Council of World Intellectuals Gratitude Medal (Supreme Conseil de l'intellectualite Mondiale Medaille de Reconnaissance): in bronze gilt, measuring 40 mm (w) x 44.7 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, original ribbon, exhibiting gilt wear on both sides.

2. Germany, Federal Republic: Reich Labour Service Long Service Medal for Twelve Years' Service (Reichsarbeitsdienst-Dienstmedaille für zwölfjährige Dienstzeit): in silvered bronze, measuring 32.8 mm (w) x 45.7 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, eagle clasp affixed to its original bow-tied ribbon with pinback.

3. Mexico, Republic: two Mexican-Belgian Cultural Institute Medals (Instituto Cultural Mexicano Belga): in bronze gilt, measuring 31.8 mm (w) x 37.2 mm (h) each inclusive of their laterally-pierced ball suspensions, both with a large rosette on their original ribbons, one with a dual prong pinback.

5. Mexico, Republic: Sanmartinian Institute of Mexico Membership Cross (Instituto Sanmartiniano de México): two-piece construction, in bronze gilt with light blue and green enamels, measuring 40.3 mm (w) x 45 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, intact enamels, original ribbon with pinback.

6. United States: Sons of the American Revolution Membership Badge: three-piece construction, in bronze gilt with blue and white enamels, measuring 38.3 mm (w) x 66 mm (h) inclusive of its eagle suspension, intact enamels original ribbon with pinback.

7. United States: World Conference on Records at Salt Lake City, Utah Medal 1969: in bronze, measuring 32.7 mm (w) x 37.5 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, original ribbon with pinback.

8. United States: O.S.&B. Southern Heritage Award: in silvered metal, the text engraved on both sides, maker marked "BLACKINTON" on the reverse, measuring 32 mm (w) x 32 mm (h), original ribbon suspended from a hanger engraved "O.S.&B." with pinback.

9. United States: O.S.B. Legion of Merit 1969: in silvered medal, the text engraved on both sides, maker marked "BLACKINTON" and named to "WARREN S. WOODWARD / SALT LAKE CITY / MAY 26-29, 1969" on the reverse, measuring 31 mm (w) x 39.5 mm (h), original ribbon suspended from a hanger engraved "O.S.B." with pinback.
