Italy, Kingdom. A Fascist Ministry of War Award Medal, Silver Grade
In silver, official national hallmark (used between 1934 and 1944), marked "800" (silver) and maker marked "F.M. LORIOLI FRATELLI MILANO ROMA" on the reverse, obverse illustrating a manned Roman chariot at the right with two lions in front, the Royal coat-of-arms in the background, surmounted by the Royal crown, with a ribbon banner below inscribed "FERT" (the motto of the royal house of Savoy-Sardinia and Italy), reverse illustrating a crowned spread-winged eagle bearing the Royal coat-of-arms on its chest, inscribed "MINISTERO DELLA GVERRA" (Ministry of War) above, measuring 39.7 mm in diameter, semi-dark patina, edge nicks, light contact and surface wear, better than very fine.
