Japan, Empire. An Imperial Army Enlisted Man’s Field Hat
An Imperial Japanese Army field hat constructed of coarse olive drab wool field cap with most of the machine sewn yellow star worn off the front, the leather chinstrap is secured by two brass buttons, there are three ventilation holes on each side of the cap, the rear of the cap has two parallel rows of three reinforced openings which a cotton lace passes through for size adjustment, the interior is lined with cheesecloth, stamped with illegible Japanese writing, and features a leather sweatband, measuring approximately 260 mm when folded, exterior crown bears burn marks and small holes, and is in overall better than fair condition.
