A large neck badge in silver, consisting of a white enameled Maltese Cross in saltire (i.e. "X" shaped) with a group of three gilt rays in each quadrant, obverse centre with presenting the Columns of Gediminas, one of the national symbols of Lithuania, with red enamel background, reverse with embossed with date of 16.11.1918 representing the end of the first war, hallmarked on reverse 12 o'clock arm with Dutch assay office import mark, in use from 1 September 1953, measuring 63.2 mm (w) x 68 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), with elongated loop and fragile original ribbon, very fine. Accompanied by the star of the order, in silver, consisting of nine multirayed arms, obverse centre with a white enameled Maltese Cross in saltire (i.e. "X" shaped) with a group of three gilt rays in each quadrant, obverse centre with presenting the Columns of Gediminas, one of the national symbols of Lithuania, reverse with typical hooked pin assembly, hallmarked on pin with Dutch assay office import mark, in use from 1 September 1953, measuring 79.2 mm (w) x 79.3 mm (h), toned silver, near extremely fine.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
