Luxembourg, Kingdom. An Order of the Oak Crown, Grand Officer Breast Star
Instituted December 29, 1841 by King Wilhelm II. In silver, a four armed star with large facets in the field, the obverse center featuring the crowned monogram of Wilhelm, surrounded by a red enamelled ring inscribed JE MAINTIENDRAI (I Will Maintain), encircled by a green enamelled wreath with a bow at 6 o’clock, the reverse with a single vertical pin flanked by dual stays, measures 73.75mm (w) x 72.90mm (h), weighs 79.0 grams, very minor hairline cracks in enamel wreath, lovely silver patina, in extremely fine condition.
