Three-piece construction, silver crown centering an insignia in silver with red, white and blue enamels, mounted to a fourteen-pointed star base, the base consisting of alternating faceted and clustered rays, hallmarked with the British crown, marked with a leopard's head (made in London), date marked "K" (1965) and maker marked "G & Co Ld" (Garrard and Company Limited, London) on the reverse of the rays, hallmarked with the British crown and marked with a leopard's head on the pin and on the cartouche, measuring 73.2 mm (w) x 70.7 mm (h), vertical pinback, intact enamels, extremely fine.
Footnote: The Most Esteemed Order of the Crown of Malaysia was instituted on April 15, 1966 by King 'Abdu'l Rahman and awarded for meritorious service to the country, in three grades: Grand Commander, Commander and Companion. Post-nominal letters: SSM, PSM, and JSM.
