Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Duchy. A Cross for Distinction in War, II Class, with Combatant’s Ribbon
(Kreuz für Auszeichnung im Kriege, II. Klasse mit Kämpferband). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Crossed Pattée with ribbed arms, the obverse with a central monogram of Friedrich Wilhelm, the six o’clock arm with a date of “1914”, the reverse with a central medallion bearing an inscription of “TAPFER UND TREU” (“BRAVE AND LOYAL”) inside of a laurel wreath, unmarked, measuring 41.86 mm (w) x 46.02 mm (h), weighing 21.3 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
