Nishan-i-Astour. Instituted in 1920. Type IV (1931-1960). Hardshelled, wooden-framed, red cloth exterior, marked with a gilt Afghan coat-of-arms within a corn wreath on the lid, padded salmon-coloured silk-like lining which is Afghan maker marked on the inside lid, lightly soiled salmon-coloured velvet raised platform with recessed medal bed for the breast star, dual hinged, latch closure, soiling and wear evident on the exterior, case fine.
