(Nishan-i-Astour). Instituted by Amir Abdu'r Rahman in 1901. Fifth Model. 1960-1973 issued. An extremely rare unbodied sash badge consisting of a five-pointed silver star surrounded by an ornamented symbol of the ring of grain in Gold, featuring mirrored design, measuring 45.00 mm (w) x 49.18 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), stamped by "585" denoting 14 kt Gold, with tarnished metals, suspended by a loop suspension and replaced full-length sash, better than very fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Star was established by Amir Abdu'r Rahman around 1901. The Order originally awarded in a single class in recognition of faithful service provided to the nation. The Order was later modified and expanded into 4 Classes by King Muhammad Zahir Shah.
