Iran (Pahlavi Empire); 4th Period (Post 1872), Cased; Of high quality Austrian manufacture, in silver with seven green enamelled rays, the seven rays designating it as a 2nd Class award, handpainted enamelled centrepiece with a crown above the lion and sun designating the award for royalty, unmarked, 74.5 mm x 76.7 mm, vertical pinback flanked by dual prongs, loss of five of the seven green enamelled rays, the centrepiece intact, better than very fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, maker marked "V. MAYER SÖHNE WIEN" on the inside lid, black velvet triple-slotted medal bed, light soiling and wear on the exterior, case also better than very fine.
