India, Persia. An Indo-Persian Dagger
Dagger with an Indian Damascus-style iron/steel blade, magnetic, with dull sides and a semi-sharp tip, with an ornate and intricate Koftgari design on both sides, the reverse incorporating a shield as part of the design, the blade measuring 135 in length, magnetic metal crossguard with flared quillons and bearing a similar design to that used on the blade, both sides of the handle are inlaid with seven pieces of interlocking bone, the magnetic metal pommel turning inward in the traditional-style and ornately designed, the dagger measuring 238 mm in length overall. The accompanying scabbard also bearing an ornate and intricate Koftgari design along with a shield as part of the design, with a band housing a large ring for suspension placed near the throat, the inside of the throat lined in red felt, the end with a distinct triangular cone-shaped tip added, the scabbard measuring 170 mm in length. It exhibits a few fit issues in the pieces of interlocking bone, however, it is free of chipping, the dagger and scabbard themselves with very light contact. Better than very fine.
