A 1959 Israeli State Medal for Valour
Bronze gilt, hallmarked and maker marked in Yiddish on the edge, obverse illustrating an upward-pointing sword fronted by a branch of laurel leaves, inscribed "PEACE BE WITHIN THY WALLS" and "PSALMS CXXII/7" in English and Yiddish, reverse illustrating a lion sitting upon a pedestal, its head pointed towards the sky and roaring, inscribed "FOR THE BUILDERS EVERY ONE HAD HIS SWORD GIRDED BY HIS SIDE" and "NEHEMIAH IV/12" in English and Yiddish, 59.5 mm, extremely fine.
