Four-piece construction, three-piece insignia in silver gilt with red and white enamels, mounted to seven-pointed star base, each of the star points on the base with nine faceted rays, measuring 62 mm (w) x 61 mm (h), crazing evident in the white enamels on the tips of three of the seven star points on the insignia, on its original full-length neck ribbon, the hook having come away from its end of the ribbon and is resting in the eye at the other end, near extremely fine.
Footnote: Al-Hussein Order of Military Merit was founded by King Hussein in 1976, to reward distinguished services by members of the Jordanian armed forces. Civilians may also receive the order in reward for exceptional services in the defence of the Kingdom. The order is awarded in five classes: Grand Cordon: awarded to general officers and above, Grand Officer: awarded to full colonels and above, Commander: awarded to field officers and above, Member Fourth Class: awarded to officers below field rank, and Member Fifth Class: awarded to other ranks.
