Our Commitment
eMedals is a globally recognized commercial institution anchored in a love for history with an emphasis on academic research and educating the public. We provide critical analytical information on historical artefacts and explain their impact on the war and their ongoing influence on our current world and social fabric. It is our purpose to place artifacts presented online within a larger historical context, and in doing so, enlighten our international viewers on the importance of 20th Century events and their lasting meaning. In our efforts to spread the social and cultural significance of past military conflicts, we have partnered with and/or have established valued patrons including:
The Canadian War Museum, Ottawa, Canada
The Imperial War Museum, London, United Kingdom
The Royal Canadian Military Institute, Toronto, Canada
The Royal Canadian Legion, Ottawa, Canada
The Royal Łazienki Museum, Warsaw, Poland
The Okma Aviation Heritage Centre, New Zealand
The National Air and Space Museum, Washington, United States
Our researchers are trained historians, many with honours level Masters Degrees in varying fields of study. With years of experience in various historical, political science, and social service fields, as well as volunteer experience at Museums and Veteran Organisations, we strive to build a bridge to history through our online platform.
In today's climate of forward social change, we aim to use this platform as a voice to convey the historical and cultural significance of past events. We respect history. We do not support, sympathize, or promote the Nazism or anti-semitic idealologies that were so prominant in the military conflicts of the past century. We pride ourselves on presenting historical objects with a sense of integrity and cultural respect while remaining true to our underlying passion of history.
By linking period authentic items to a contextual backdrop, eMedals aims to create tangible connections between the past and the present. In addition to historical content on our item pages, we are continuously populating each of our pages with direct links to our sister company, MedalBook.com. Here, historical context is presented in further detail, social concepts are explored, and artifacts are given a place in 20th Century history. We do this with a desire to inform future generations as well as to inspire an academic based interest in the past.
We wholeheartedly support museums such as The Florida Holocaust Museum as well as government institutions around the world with authentic wartime artefacts to facilitate an honest and fact-based dialogue with the public. We at eMedals, invite you to visit the website of the Florida Holocaust Museum to further arm yourself with the knowledge of past events and the impact of 20th Century military conflict; https://www.flholocaustmuseum.org/.
