WWI 183rd Infantry Battalion Shoulder Title Pair - Pickled copper, maker marked "DINGWALL" on their reverses, 24 mm x 55.5 mm each, intact lugs on one, the other with one intact lug and one replacement lug, light contact and gilt wear, very fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Manitoba with mobilization headquarters at Winnipeg under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916. The Battalion sailed October 4, 1916 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel W.T. Edgecombe with a strength of 13 officers and 431 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was broken up to supply reinforcements for the 100th, 107th, 108th and 144th Infantry Battalions. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920. WWI 29th Infantry Battalion Shoulder Title Pair CEF - One title in browning copper, maker marked "JACOBY BROS VANCOUVER" on the reverse, 16 mm x 57 mm, intact prongs, slightly undulated; the other title in browning brass, unmarked, 17 mm x 57 mm, intact lugs. Residue in the recessed areas of the browning copper version from cleaning, better than very fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised and mobilized in Vancouver, British Columbia under the authority of G.O. 36, March 15, 1915. The Battalion sailed May 20, 1915 with a strength of 37 officers and 1,090 other ranks under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel H.S. Tobin. The Battalion served in France and Belgium with the 6th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Division. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
