A First War Canadian Headquarters 10th Infantry Brigade; 4th Canadian Division Helmet - British-made, steel, non-magnetic, in army green, elongated green bar painted above a green rectangle on the front, the bar representative of the Headquarters 10th Infantry Brigade, the rectangle representative of the 4th Canadian Division. Inside, steel-framed cradle supporting a blackened canvas liner with underlying burlap support and leather backer, mesh support with drawstring, stamped "HS 74" ("HS" indicating the manufacturer, Hadfield Limited of Sheffield (1916-1919); and "74" the steel batch number) on the underside of the helmet at the front, leather chin strap remains relatively supple and is intact, additional leather strap and pressed fabric in the dome. Helmet measures 290 mm x 305 mm x 120 mm, exhibiting bubbling and contact marks on the exterior, the Headquarters 10th Infantry Brigade, 4th Canadian Division insignia exhibiting wear but still recognizable, very light wear evident on the liner, as worn.
