What's a max bid?

A First War Mark II Canadian Engineers Helmet Consignment #4

A First War Mark II Canadian Engineers Helmet - British-made, steel, non-magnetic, in army green, 39.5 mm x 51.5 mm pickled brass Canadian Engineers Cap Badge affixed to the front, period placed, two holes drilled through the helmet allowing the badge's lugs to pass through and are welded in place. Inside, steel-framed cradle supporting a blackened canvas liner with underlying burlap support, the liner marked "T52", stamped "H.V. 538" ("H" indicating the manufacturer, W. Hutton & Sons; "V" the steel supplier, Vickers Limited; and "538" the steel batch number) on the underside of the helmet at the front, hand engraved with the owner's name "A. Lord" on the underside at the left rear, full leather chin strap remains intact, inscribed with the owner's name in black ink "A. Lord" where the strap passes through the dome. Helmet measures 297 mm x 310 mm x 120 mm, exhibiting bubbling and contact marks on the exterior, age dirt and expected wear evident on the liner, leather chin strap remains relatively supple, as worn (C:4)
