An 1870 2nd Regiment Queen's Own Rifles Helmet Plate - Four-piece construction, bronze Queen's Own Rifles insignia centering a red enamelled cross, on a blackened bronze base illustrating an open-ended wreath of maple leaves and surmounted by a crown, 78.5 mm x 93.5 mm, four screwposts on the reverse, each with their original nuts, three with their original wing nuts, the other having been lost to time, support plate held in place via two pins, chipping and crazing evident in the red enamels on the cross, better than very fine.
