RUSSELL. 14-CAN.INF.) Naming is officially impressed. Memorial Plaque named FRED RUSSELL, spots of verdigris across front of plaque. Fine. 4pcs. Footnote: Frederick William Russell was born on 14th March 1889 in Thetford Mines, Quebec, joined the 14th Bn CEF on 24th September 1914 having seen previous three years service with 53rd Sherbrooke Regiment. He arrived in France on 7th July 1915 and was wounded in the back by shrapnel at Ypres on 4th June 1916 and was a victim of a gas attack on 22nd September 1917. He died of wounds whilst in action at the Somme on 9th August 1918 age 29. Comes with copy of his Service Records.
