Footnote: William Arthur Orton was born on January 31, 1916 in Bolton, Lancashire, England. He signed his Attestation Paper as a Private (34313) with No. 2 Stationary Hospital, Canadian Army Medical Corps, on September 24, 1914, at Valcartier Camp, at the age of 18, naming his next-of-kin as Mrs. E. Mosley of Bolton, stating that he had one years' previous service in the army, that he was not married and that his trade was that of Grocer. Orton survived the war.
