Canada, Dominion. A General Service Medal, Brockville & Ottawa Garrison (Grand Trunk Brigade)
Canada; 1 Clasp - FENIAN RAID 1870 (Private. E. Copeland Brockville & Ottawa G.A.). Naming is officially impressed. Replacement ribbon, dark patina, "p" is double struck in his surname, the first "t" in Ottawa also double struck, edge nicks, light contact, better than very fine. Footnote: Private Edward Copeland is shown on the roll of the 39 man Brockville & Ottawa Garrison Artillery (Grand Trunk Brigade) and is listed on page 154 of the "Canada General Service Medal Roll, 1866-70" by John Thyen, entitled to the Fenian Raid 1870 clasp. He is documented as having been posted to Brockville, Ontario on two occasions: from March 19 to June 17, 1866 and from May 24 to June 1, 1870, which would have entitled him to both the 1866 and 1870 clasps, although in Thyen's book he is acknowledged has having received the 1870 clasp only.
