Canada; 1 Clasp - FENIAN RAID 1866 (Pte. J.D. Renner, Villa Nova R. Co.). Naming is officially impressed. Replacement ribbon, very dark patina, very light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: Private John D. Renner is shown on the roll of the 41 man Villa Nova Rifle Company and is listed on page 272 of the "Canada General Service Medal Roll, 1866-70" by John Thyen, entitled to the Fenian Raid 1866 clasp. He is documented on the roll as having been posted to Villa Nova, Ontario and Paris, Ontario from June 2 to June 22, 1866, for special duty, guarding the reserve base and interior line of communication.
