What's a max bid?

Footnote: Gunner Henry Davis is shown on the roll of the 294 man Grand Trunk Railway Brigade (Artillery) and is listed on page 184 of the "Canada General Service Medal Roll, 1866-70" by John Thyen. Please note that Davis is shown as entitled to the 166 & 1870 Clasps but not the Red River. He is also listed under Grand trunk railway brigade, not artillery. (C:39)
