A First War Canadian Medal Pair to the 20th Infantry CEF - British War Medal (678281 A. CPL. E. BRUFORD. 20-CAN.INF.); and Victory Medal (678281 A. CPL. E. BRUFORD. 20-CAN.INF.). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, dark patina on the BWM, light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: There is no Attestation Paper on record for Bruford. The 20th Infantry Battalion "1st Central Ontario Regiment" was raised in Central and Northern Ontario and mobilized in Toronto under the authority of G.O. 36, March 15, 1915. The Battalion sailed May 15, 1915 aboard the S.S. Megantic, under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel J.A.W. Allen, with a strength of 35 officers and 1,100 other ranks, arriving in England on May 24th. The Battalion served in France and Belgium with the 4th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Canadian Division.
