A First War Medal Pair to the 14th Canadian Infantry CEF - British War Medal (3106459 PTE. J.D. PERAULT. 14-CAN.INF.); and Victory Medal (3106459 PTE. J.D. PERAULT. 14-CAN.INF.). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, ends of the original ribbons have been sewn together from previous mounting, dark patina on the BWM, light contact and surface wear, very fine. Accompanied by a 12 mm x 65.5 mm Ribbon Bar of same, with pinback. Footnote: Joseph Daniel Perault was born on January 27, 1886 in LaFontaine, Ontario. He was a resident of Hamilton, Ontario when he signed his Particulars of Recruit Drafted Under Military Service Act 1917, Military Service Act letter and number 810687, on January 5, 1918 in Hamilton, naming his next-of-kin as his mother, Delia Perault of Victoria Harbour, Ontario, stating that he had no previous military service, that he was Single and that his trade was that of Machine Hand.
