A First War Medal to the Central Ontario Regiment
WWI War Medal - Central Ontario Regiment - (273427 PTE. A. PRINCE. C.O.R.). Naming is officially impressed. Very crisp detail, cleaned, light contact, very fine. Footnote: Arthur Prince was born on October 29, 1880 in Lancashire, England. He signed his Attestation Paper with the 216th Infantry Battalion "Toronto Bantams" in Toronto, Ontario, stating that he had no previous military service, that he was married and that his trade was that of Shell Box Maker. The Battalion was raised in Toronto, Ontario under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916 and sailed April 18, 1917 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel F.L. Burton with a strength of 36 officers and 783 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 3rd Reserve Battalion.
