Footnote: Joseph Hardy was born on December 25, 1870 in Quebec City, Quebec. He signed his Attestation Paper on October 18, 1915 in France, at the age of 44, naming his next-of-kin as Mrs. Edward Guindon on Montreal, Quebec, stating that he had three years' previous service with 'A' Battery, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery from 1886-1888, that he was not married and that his trade was that of Cook. He is acknowledged as having two service numbers (41801 and 6153).
