A Boer War & Canadian First War Group - Queen's South Africa Medal, 3 Clasps - TRANSVAAL, SOUTH AFRICA 1901, SOUTH AFRICA 1902 (5937 Pte W. BOWRON, DEVON: REGt); British War Medal (458273 PTE. W.C. BOWRON. C.A.S.C.); and Victory Medal (458273 PTE. W.C. BOWRON. C.A.S.C.). Naming is officially impressed. Very crisp detail, silver medals are silvered, bruising on the QSA, contact marks, mounted to a suspension bar with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, near very fine.

Footnote: William Charles Bowron was born on October 3, 1879 in London, England. He served as a Private with the 1st Battalion, Devonshire Regiment for twelve years, including postings in South Africa during the Boer War, then later, India and Burma. He eventually settled in Canada, residing in Verdun, Quebec. He signed his CEF Attestation Paper on July 22, 1915 in Montreal, Quebec, at the age of 35 years, 6 months, reaffirming his military service with the Devonshire Regiment, stating that he was married to Agnes Bowron and that his trade was that of Porter.
