What's a max bid?

An RCAF British Empire Medal Group - British Empire Medal, Military Division, GRVI (CAN/R.68471 FLT. SGT. WILLIAM A. MURRAY R.C.A.F., on Military Ribbon); Defence Medal; Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Overseas Clasp; and War Medal 1939-1945 with MID Oak Leaf. Naming is officially impressed on the BEM. Court-mounted for presentation, original ribbons, very fine. Accompanied by copies of two citations from the London Gazette and assorted research papers.Footnote: William Alexander Murray was living in Ingersoll, Ontario when he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on September 19, 1940, in London, Ontario. He was posted overseas on August 7, 1942, then transferred to Leeming Station on November 9, 1942 as an Armourer (Bombs). Work began on RAF Leeming in 1938, with the Station being handed over to No. 6 RCAF Bomber Group in 1942. It was initially home to 405 (Vancouver) Squadron and 408 (Goose) Squadron, and later, from 1943 to 1945, 427 (Lion) Squadron and 429 (Bison) Squadron. Murray was with No. 427 Squadron (No. 63 Base in AFRO) when he was Mentioned in Despatches and cited in the Supplement to the London Gazette, page 102, on January 1, 1945 and AFRO 425/45 on March 9, 1945: "This non-commissioned officer enlisted in September 1940 and was posted to the United Kingdom in August 1942. He is an Armourer (Bombs) and came to 427 Squadron in November 1942. He is in charge of the "bombing up" crews and continually has shown keen devotion to duty. Under the most trying conditions he has always completed the task in hand and his work in general is exceptional." Murray was recommended for his British Empire Medal (Military Division) on May 5, 1945 while he was a Flight Sergeant in charge of Daily Servicing (Armament) and cited in the Supplement to the London Gazette, page 68, on January 1, 1946 and AFRO 155/46 on February 15, 1946: "Enlisting September 19, 1940, Flight Sergeant Murray was posted overseas August 7, 1942. Since November 9, 1942 he has been at Leeming. During this period he has shown himself to be an outstanding tradesman and an NCO of the highest order. Extremely efficient in organization and a remarkable knowledge of service regulations. Flight Sergeant Murray, through his cheerful manner and pleasing personality, has won the fullest co-operation of personnel under his command which has resulted in his section being one of the most efficient on the unit. He voluntarily works long hours far beyond the normal section requirements, with complete disregard for his personal warfare. He is at his best under pressure and no matter how difficult the job may be it will be carried out to complete satisfaction of all concerned. Respected and admired by all ranks and highly regarded by his superior officers whom he serves under." He was presented with his BEM on May 17, 1948.
