Bronze Star, in bronze, full size, reverse engraved W. WILSON 13-5-66, worn on original ribbon with slot brooch and lock catch, light contact marks, in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by a ribbon bar and enamelled buttonhole lapel pin, both of extremely fine condition. Contained in its original case of issue, black leatherette exterior with crème coloured interior, measures 170mm (l) x 90mm (w) x 25mm (d), exhibiting cracking on the exterior, in near very fine condition.
Purple Heart, in bronze gilt and enamels, full size, reverse engraved WILLIAM WILSON 29-7-66, worn on original ribbon with slot brooch and lock catch, enamels intact, minor wear, in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by a ribbon bar and enamelled buttonhole lapel pin, both of extremely fine condition. Contained in its original case of issue, black leatherette exterior with crème coloured interior, exterior marked PURPLE HEART, measures 170mm (l) x 90mm (w) x 25mm (d), minor wear, in extremely fine condition.
Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, bronze, full size, rim impressed SIMCO, worn on original ribbon with pinback on reverse, light wear and contact marks, in very fine condition.
An M1 Complete Helmet, including the steel M1 shell with UMSC reversible camouflage helmet cover, interior of steel shell marked WILSON in black ink, chin strap with metal bales attached, an interior liner with leather sweatband and nape strap and proper cloth fittings inside, sweatband marked WILSON B-590292, the exterior marked SB188072 WILSON USMC 8/6/66, measures 255mm (w – from bale to bale) x 300mm (l) x 190mm (h), the steel shell bears a large dent to the front left side possibly from bullet contact, the camouflage cover has numerous ribs and tears and is sun faded, notable wear to the interior, however remains in very fine condition.
A USMC KA-BAR fighting knife with leather sheath, the blade is a traditional 178mm carbon steel clip point, engraved on the ricasso USMC and KA-BAR, features the original painted leather-washer grip, with steel pommel, the blade has been coated in a Vaseline for protection, remains in very fine condition. The leather sheath is in chestnut brown with a brass button attached to the straps for the grip, the reverse of the sheath has been inscribed WILSON 6/7/62, also marked T. MIRAK in a dotting style on the reverse and below the handle on the obverse, leather is worn showing scratches and contact but remains supple, a KA-BAR is very fine condition.
A USMC Lightweight Flyer’s Bomber Jacket by Alpha Industries Inc, in green cloth, a full length tunic with expandable wrist and waistband, featuring an embroidered canvas strip on the left side of the chest reading WILSON, the right side of the chest bears a silver aviator badge, marked KREW C1 on reverse with two vertical pins and pinch pin clasps, measures 65mm (w) x 15mm (h), on a black felt patch, above the wings sit an embroidered army air assault badge and an army senior parachute badge, the body of the jacket presents a central zipper with a pocket on each side fastened by Velcro, the left arm features an embroidered patch denoting the rank of sergeant, while the right features a patch of the 1st Cavalry Division, with a multi purpose pocket below with zippered edge, the back is plain, the interior presents a manufacturers patch in near the waistband of the left side, denoting Alpha Industries and hand labeled WILSON. The Jacket measures 72cm in length, 62cm down the length of each arm, and 50cm across the shoulders. Light discolouration on the obverse, minor contact remains in extremely fine condition.
