In silvered copper and zinc alloy, measuring 36.8 mm in diameter, very light contact, original ribbon with pinback, extremely fine. In its cardboard box of issue, marked "KOREA VOLUNTEER 1950-1954 VOLONTAIRE COREE" on the lid, black felt medal bed, tiny ink mark and sunning evident on the lid, box near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Canadian Volunteer Service Medal for Korea is awarded to all members of the Canadian Forces who were in the qualifying area of Korea and adjacent areas between June 27, 1950 and 1950 and July 27, 1954 with four further provisos. The recipients were eligible if they were on the strength of a unit in Korea for one day, were on active service aboard a ship for at least 28 days, flew one sortie over Korea or over Korean waters or had accumulated at least 28 days service in the qualifying area. The medal could be awarded posthumously and 18,560 were made, the medal issued un-named.
