A British War Medal to Canadian 2/Lieut. Schieck RAF - (2/LIEUT. V.R. SCHIECK. R.A.F.). Naming is officially impressed. Original ribbon, contact marks, cleaned, better than very fine. Accompanied by a copy of his Index Card, Service Records, London Gazette page 11864 (October 8, 1918, naming him as a 2nd Lieutenant), City of Stratford burial information and a photo of Schieck.    Footnote: Vasselle Roy Schieck was born on June 15, 1895 in Drayton, Ontario. He enlisted as a 3rd Class Air Mechanic with the Royal Flying Corps on December 28, 1917. Eight months later, as a Cadet, Schieck was granted a temporary commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force on August 22, 1918, as noted in the London Gazette, page 11864 on October 8, 1918. He concluded his war service on May 8, 1919. Schieck died at the age of 83 and was interred on April 28, 1979 in Avondale Cemetery, Stratford, Ontario, Section 10, Grave 060.
