A First War Trio to the 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade Headquarters - 1914-15 Star (29913 Pte H.E. HARRISON. 1/CAN:INF:BDE:H.Q.); British War Medal (29913 PTE. H.E. HARRISON. 1-CAN. I. BDE. H.Q.); and Victory Medal (29913 PTE. H.E. HARRISON. 1-CAN. I. BDE. H.Q.). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, original ribbons, edge nicks and wear on the BWM, light contact, very fine. Footnote: Henry Edward Harrison was born on October 29, 1878 in County Durham in England. He signed his Attestation Paper with the 4th Infantry Battalion at Valcartier Camp, on September 24, 1914, at the age of 35, stating his name as "Leslie Lyle", which was later changed to Henry Edward Harrison, naming his next-of-kin as Gladys Vera & Tommy Seaton, that he had seven years' previous service with the 16th Lancers and Cameron Highlanders, that he was a Widower and that his trade was that of Groom. The Battalion was raised in Central Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Camp Valcartier, Quebec under the authority of P.C.O. 2067, August 6, 1914. The Battalion sailed October 3, 1914 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel R.H. Labatt, with a strength of 42 officers and 1,084 other ranks. The Battalion served in France and Belgium with the 1st Infantry Brigade, 1st Canadian Division. Private Harrison was later transferred to the 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade Headquarters, possibly in the roll of a Groom.
