1914-15 Star (122 CPL J.T. LINDSAY. CAN:ENG:); British War Medal (HON. CAPT. J.T. LINDSAY.); and Victory Medal with bronze MID leaf (HON. CAPT. J.T. LINDSAY.). Naming is officially impressed. Crisp detail, polished, court-mounted, better than very fine. Accompanied by copies of his Attestation Paper, Service Records, Pay Records and assorted research papers. Footnote: John Turnbull Lindsay was born on Apr. 9, 1886 in Monance, Fifeshire, Scotland. He signed his Attestation Paper on January 20, 1915 at Ottawa, Ontario, stating that he had previous military service with the 3rd Field Troop C.E., that he was not married and that his trade was that of Electrician. He arrived in the United Kingdom aboard the S.S. Northland on April 29, 1915. Five months later, Lindsay disembarked in Le Havre, France on September 16, 1915, serving with the 2nd Divisional Engineers, 4 Field Company, Canadian Engineers in the field. He was Mentioned in Despatches by Sir Douglas Haig in London Gazette 30107 on June 1, 1917 for gallant and distinguished conduct in the field (Vimy Ridge) on April 9, 1917. He was struck of strength of the 4th Field Company, Canadian Engineers and transferred to the 4th Canadian Engineers Battalion on June 5, 1918. It was noted in the London Gazette 31188 on July 20, 1918 that he was to be temporary Quartermaster with the rank of Honourable Captain. He later took on the rank of Lieutenant. Upon the conclusion of hostilities, he returned to England on April 14, 1919. On month later, Lindsay retired to civilian life in the United Kingdon on May 9th, going into business as an Electrical Engineer in Edinburgh, Scotland.
