A Memorial Cross to the 38th Battalion; August 1918 - George V. (775788 Pte. C. BRIGAITIS). Naming is officially engraved. Hallmarked, marked STERLING, large copper ring added to suspension, no ribbon. Good detail, fine. Footnote: Charled Brigaitis was born in Manchester, England on February 16, 1898. He signed his Attestation Paper on February 17, 1916 in Toronto and listed his trade as Labourer. He joined the 126th Overseas Battalion of the CEF. He was a member of the 38th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Eastern Ontario Regiment) and was Killed in Action on August 10, 1918, at the age of 20. He is remembered at the Vimy Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
