A Second War Canadian Forces Group to RCAF - Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Overseas Clasp, War Medal 1939-1945 and GVI Canadian Forces Decoration with Clasp (WOI R.C. CRAMPTON). Naming is officially engraved on the CFD. Mounted to a suspension bar with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, extremely fine. Accompanied by a miniature set of same, dark patinas, also extremely fine and a 12 mm x 135 mm ribbon bar, with silver Maple Leaf on the CVSM ribbon and rosette on the CFD ribbon; a Department of National Defence (Air Force) War Service Badge authorization card; and copies of his Attestation Paper, Service Records, Canadian Forces Decoration Award Application, Proof of Death Certificate and Notification of Death, with some information blacked out for privacy reasons.  Footnote: Roy Clifton Crampton signed his Attestation Paper with the Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment on June 26, 1934 at Smith Falls, Ontario, stating that he had had three years military experience with the Collegiate (High School) Cadets. He was later struck off strength, November 7, 1936. Crampton then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, advancing to the ranks of T/F/Sgt from June 6, 1937 to December 18, 1942 and A/FL from December 19, 1942 to September 30, 1946. Cramptons official records are largely blacked out thereby indicating a hold on service details. Postwar, from 1945 to 1964, he saw multiple postings, including Halifax NS, Summerside PEI, Hamilton ON, Camp Borden ON, Aylmer ON, London ON, Trenton ON, Gimli MB and Winnipeg MB, where he achieved the ranks of Flight Officer, and later, Flight Lieutenant. He was placed on the retired list in April 1966 and died forty years later, on June 9, 2006 at Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
