Normandy Campaign Medal, constructed of cupro-nickel medal, the obverse presents the British Armed Forces tri-service badge with a single lateral sword above a lion passant guardant within a circle of twelve five-pointed stars representing Europe, circumscribed BLESSENT MON COEUR D’UNE LANGUEUR MONOTONE (WOUND MY HEART WITH MONOTONOUS LANGOUR), the reverse presents a beached landing craft, inscribed JUNE 6TH AUG 20TH 1944 on its lowered ramp, the foreground with fleurs de lys representing French land, circumscribed above NORMANDY CAMPAIGN, numbered 8400, worn on original ribbon with NORMANDY bar, light wear, residue on reverse, in very fine condition.
Operation Overlord 50th Anniversary Commemorative Medal, gilded medal, the face with a map of the Normandy coast from the Cotentin peninsula in the west to Dieppe in the east, circumscribed lower right with the names of the D-Day landing beaches, UTAH . OMAHA GOLD . JUNO . SWORD, the flags of the allied nations above, circumscribed left and above OVERLORD 6 JUIN 1944, the reverse with the torch of liberty imposed on a V for Victory, circumscribed LIBERTE above, inscribed DIEX and AIE (the ancient battle cry of the Dukes of Normand; Norman French = God is with us) to left and right, circumscribed below NORMANDIE and dated MCMXCIV (= 1994), on original ribbon, minimal wear, reverse has been adhered to black felt backing of medal bar, remains in very fine condition.
Liberation Bergen Op Zoom 50th Anniversary Commemorative Medal, the central features the shape of the building with a Dutch lion to the right, the inscription on the left reads 50 JAAR BEVRIJDING NEDERLAND 1945-1995, with exterior inscription reading LIBERATION BERGEN OP ZOOM 27 OCTOBER 1944, reverse is plain, measures 40mm (w) x 48mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), worn on a Netherlands Medal of Remembrance in Relation to the Liberation of Holland ribbon, reverse bears adhesive residue, minor wear, in very fine condition.
