WWII Group of Five to Gunner Joseph W. Doucette- War Medal 1935-1945, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Overseas Clasp, France and Germany Star, Italy Star and 1939-1945 Star. Unnamed, dark patinas, mounted to a suspension bar with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, near extremely fine. Accompanied by his Discharge Certificate (issued on water-resistant paper and dated November 3, 1945); his Department of National Defence, Canadian Bureau, Ottawa, Photo Identification Card; a Royal Canadian Artillery Permanent Pass (dated April 1, 1941 and stamped "Headquarters - Halifax Fortress, April 3, 1941"); an Admission Ticket Addressed to Officers, N.C.O.'s and Gunners of the 1st Medium Regiment, RCA to a Dance in Utrecht, Netherlands; a Canadian Army Tradesmen's Qualifications Certificate ("Driver Mechanic", issued on water-resistant paper, dated November 3, 1945); a My War Service Record Card; a If Found Please Return To Card (emblazoned with the Canadian Army Flag); and a Leather Folder (stamped with the General Service insignia and dated 1939-1945 on the front). Footnote: Gunner Joseph William Doucette enrolled with the Number 6 District Depot, Canadian Artillery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on March 12, 1941. He is documented as having served in the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and the Central Mediterranean. The Dance Admision Ticket was issued to members of the 1st Medium Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, which was one of six Canadian medium artillery regiments that served in the European Theatre during World War II, Doucette having served with them. He was discharged from active service, to return to civilain life upon demobilization, on November 3, 1945 at Halifax.
