In brass, the red felt of insignia secured in place via a brass plate pinned in place, along with being maker marked "J.R. GAUNT LONDON" on the reverse, measuring 26.7 mm (w) x 36.3 mm (h), both lugs intact, extremely fine.
Footnote: The 12th Battalion Canadian Railway Troops was formed in the spring of 1918 by the conversion and re-designation of the 3rd Labour Battalion. It was disbanded on November 1, 1920.
