Canada; One is pickled brass, the other is browning copper, unmarked but both versions known to have been manufactured by Birks, 32 mm (w) x 22 mm (h) each, both with intact lugs, one is slightly curved, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Ontario and Quebec with mobilization headquarters at Valcartier under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916. The Battalion sailed December 15, 1916 under the command of Major V.L. MacDonald with a strength of 26 officers and 738 other ranks. In France, the Battalion served as the 3rd Battalion, Canadian Railway Troops. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
